Competition Development

Prerequisites

• Minimum age of 21.
• Minimum rank of Shodan with a working knowledge of the judo techniques included in the Judo Canada syllabus (up to and including Shodan).
• Trained Dojo Instructor.
• A letter of recommendation from the provincial/territorial association stating that the participant works with Developing Competitors at the Provincial level; and meets the technical requirements.
• Completion of the multi sport Competition Development modules. These modules can be done online in person. For more informaiton about upcoming in person options please visit Canadian Sport Institute Pacific. Here are the links to the online options:

Competition Development In Training

• Have completed some of the judo-specific Competition Development modules.

Competition Development Trained

• Have completed all 6 multi sport Competition Development modules.
• Have completed all judo-specific Competition Development modules.
• Have completed the Make Ethical Decisions module and online evaluation.

Competition Development Certified

• Have successfully completed Competition Development coach portfolio.
• Have successfully completed Competition Development evaluation.
• Minimum rank of Nidan.
• 240 hours coaching Provincial or National level athletes.
