Based in Abbotsford and in partnership with Judo Canada, Judo BC operates one of Canada’s Regional Training Centres. The RTC program provides a centralized world class training environment in British Columbia for aspiring full-time U16 to U21 athletes who wish to transition onto the international competitive circuit and to the National Training Centre in Montreal.
This program is open for application to all judoka from all provinces across Canada.
The RTC program provides opportunity for the greater volume of training needed to succeed at the higher levels of competitive judo. Athletes will have access to international level coaching, technical/tactical skills, individualized strength & conditioning, goal setting and further support services through the Canadian Institute of Sport.
Location
The new BC RTC is a partnership between Judo Canada, Judo BC and the Abbotsford Judo Club. The club is one of the most successful clubs in BC and has help many athletes make the transition to the National Training Centre in Montreal.
Nestled in the Fraser Valley, Abbotsford is just 1 hour east of Vancouver. With a small town feel, diverse population and Abbotsford is a wonderful place to live, train and go to school.
