The Petit Samurai is a kids’ Judo event that brings together young Judoka, U12 and under, from local clubs to foster friendship and promote the positive values of Judo. The events are held in conjunction with regional/provincial training camps or competitions. This allows the Petit Samurai participants to see what higher level training camps and competition are all about, and gives Judoka of all ages an opportunity to interact and share their love of Judo.
Each Petit Samurai event is 1 hour in length and involves group warm up games and 3 stations of Judo activities. Each participant in presented with a certificate and a patch at the end of the event. There are 4 different themes available for the Petit Samurai, each one focusing on 2 Judo values. Kids can collect the different themed patches and certificates by attending more than one Petit Samurai each year.
This program is available free of charge for Judo BC member clubs. Requirements include having a minimum of 3 other clubs in attendance at the event and ensuring that all the participants are current Judo BC members. For more information contact the Judo BC office a minimum of 8 weeks prior to your event to ensure you receive the Petit Samurai materials in time.
