Richmond – Over 90 athletes from across BC attended the Team BC Training Camp held this past weekend at the Steveston Judo Club.
The camp served as an opportunity to our BC athletes to work on specific techniques under the watchful eye of Bruce Kamstra, Provincial Head Coach, and special guest coaches such as Olympic Silver Medallist, Yuki Yokosawa of the Burnaby Club. Yokosawa won a silver medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, Greece.
The camp participants were also treated to a surprise visit from Doug Rogers, Canada’s first Olympic medallist in Judo. Rogers won the silver medal at the 1964 Summer Olympics held in Tokyo, Japan.
