Brampton, Ontario – Abby Lloyd of the Prince George Judo Club had to settle for the silver today in the U20 +44 kg division losing by yuko in golden score to Whitnes Lohnes of Nova Scotia. Lloyd who lost her fist match of the day to Lohnes reach the gold medal final by beating both Jessica Klimkait and Tressa Sheffield of Ontario by ippon.
Ali Briggs of the Kokoro Judo Club finished the day with a record of 2-1 in the U20 +48 kg division. She lost to Jessica Larouche-Hovington of Quebec by ippon but finished the day strong with a win over Emily Green of New Brunswick by wazari and Lysa Gagnon of Quebec by ippon.
Georgia Larden of the Steveston Judo Club finished the day with a record of 1-2 in the U20 +63 kg division. She lost to Marie-Michele Girard of Quebec by ippon, beat Valerie Brasier of Ontario by ippon, and lost to Alix Renoud-Roy of Quebec by ippon.
Kristal Lukas of the Burnaby Judo Club struggled in the U20 +57 kg division losing to Elodie Lavoie of Quebec by ippon and receiving a disqualification for a leg grab against Ontario’s Megan Nagy.
Yesterday’s silver medalist, Braxton Clark of the Nanaimo Judo Club had to settle for 5th in the U20 +73 kg division losing to Vincent Leduc of Quebec by ippon, beating Mohammed-Redouane Laref also of Quebec by ippon and losing his last match to Louis Krieber-Gagnon of Quebec by ippon.
George Lukas of the Victoria Judo Club finished the day with a 2-2 record in the U20 +60 kg division. He won his first round match against Steven Bric of Ontario by ippon. He lost his second match against Simon Gaudrealt of Quebec by ippon. Went on to beat Byron Powell of Ontario by ippon. And lost his second match of the day by a shido in golden score against Julien Cantin of Quebec.
Tyler Wakita of the Abbotsford Judo Club finished with a record of 1-2 in the U20 +66 kg division. He won his first match against Umberto Rupolo of Quebec by ippon and lost his next two matches by ippon to Etienne Briand of Quebec and Alex Scott of Nova Scotia.
Team BC finished the tournament with a total of three medals: Abby Lloyd, gold in U17 +44 kg and silver in U20 +44 kg; and Braxton Clark, silver in U17 +73 kg.
