Jeremy Le Bris, Judo Sport Development Director and Provincial Head coach said this today “I’m happy with the behavior of lightweight athletes, they gave all that they had. 4 medals is not too bad, but our team has much more potential. The Girls were awesome and Klavdia & Kimiko did a great job until the final. I know boys are disappointed with the results because they expecting a different color of the medal. We will have now the heavyweight tomorrow, and the team competition on Friday. Coaches Layton & Gabby are very good with athletes, and the great job will pay off soon.”
Also in attendance at the games in Red Deer is Judo BC President, Donna Hanson. Here are her thoughts on day 1 “Day one at the 2019 CWG was exciting! Our athletes gave everything they had and as a result BC had several medals. Congrats to them and good luck to tomorrow’s competitors! A sterling performance from BC’s two referees, Brian Deevy & Hiroshi Nishi, as well!”
