It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mark Digney on Thursday, October 24, 2024.
Mark Digney will be greatly missed in the Judo community near and far. He started his Judo career at the young age of 7 in Invermere BC under Sensei Hermann Mauthner. He was a very active and competitive Judoka all through his younger years competing at national level on several occasions.
He started a career in Williams Lake as an accountant and contributed greatly to the club as both coach and competitor. He spent the last 10 years at the Invermere Judo Club as a dedicated coach and has been an integral part of keeping the Invermere Judo Club going after Hermann Mauthner’s retirement.
Mark fought a fierce and fast battle with pancreatic cancer. His fighting spirit will be kept alive on the mats at the Invermere Judo Club.
