Congratulations to Nathan Thiel (Abbotsford Judo Club) and Lowan Le Bris (Peak Judo Club) on their third place finishes at the International Masters Bremen, in Bremen, Germany, March 22-24!
The International Masters Bremen tournament is a male U18 & U21 tournament that has been in existence since 1986. It is a popular and widely attended tournament with this year having over 25 nations and 674 athletes competing.
Nathan Thiel competed in -55kg, U18 with 61 competitors in his division. Nathan had 6 wins, 1 loss to earn the bronze medal.
Lowan Le Bris competed in -66kg, U18 with 64 competitors in his division. Lowan had 6 wins, 1 loss to earn the bronze medal.
Zachary Harris (Abbotsford Judo Club) was the third Team BC member competing for Canada at Bremen and competed in the -73kg, U18 with 57 competitors in his division. Zach went 1 win, 1 loss.
The tournament was followed by a 3 day training camp with over 500 participants and included a friendly team tournament. Many battles were fought on the tatami and lots of experience gained for Nathan, Lowan and Zachary. Good work Team BC!
