External Sport Credits for High School Students Information Sheet
The External Sport Credentials Program (ESCP) of the BC Ministry of Education is administered and monitored by the BC Ministry for Ministry of Tourism, Arts, Culture and Sport. It gives secondary school students the opportunity to earn graduation credits for approved levels of competition as an athlete, coach and/or official. Judo athletes are eligible to receive credits for the following:

Details
- Students do not have to be in a specific grade to receive that grade’s credit. For example, a grade 10 student who is part of the Provincial Team Program at the Provincial A level or higher, will receive credit for Athlete 12. Likewise, a grade 11 student who competed in the BC Games while he/she was in grade seven can receive credit for Athlete 10.
- Students who have participated in approved programs before they reach grade 10 can receive credit for their past participation by obtaining written documentation to verify their participation.
- Once a student has received credit for a particular level within the athlete, official or coach categories, he or she cannot receive additional credits for duplicate participation.
How to Earn Credits
To obtain written documentation* from Judo BC please email general@judobc.ca and provide the following details:
- Full name of student
- Student’s date of birth
- Credits student is eligible for i.e. Athlete 11, Official 10
- List of activities i.e. BC Games 2024, Provincial Team Program Provincial A level member in 2023-24, NCCP certification & number of coaching hours, list of tournaments refereed.
- Date written documentation needed.
